PURPOSE:To maintain a proper photographic performance always constant for a long period and to form a stable direct positive color image rapidly without causing and development fog by developing an internal latent image type photosensitive material comprising a silver chlorobromide photosensitive emulsion layer, a blue-sensitive emulsion layer specified in average grain diameter, and a specified red-sensitive emulsion layer by a specified method. CONSTITUTION:The internal latent image type photosensitive material comprising the silver chlorobromide photosensitive emulsion layer having the content of <=30mol% AgBr, the blue-sensitive emulsion layer specified having an average grain diameter of <=1.4mum, and the red-sensitive emulsion layer containing at least one cyan coupler represented by general formulae I-III is processed with a color developing solution containing an N-hydroxyalkylated-p-phenylenediamine drivative at >=30 deg.C and for <=150sec. In formulae I-III, one of R, R1 is H and other is 1-12C alkyl; each of X, Z is H or a group to be released by the coupling reaction with said developing agent; Y is one of formulae IV-X; each of R4, R5 is alkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, or a heterocyclic group; and R3 is a ballasting group. |
