MAGNETIC HEAD FEEDING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To improve the positioning accuracy of a magnetic head by using a one-way energizing means which cuts off the energizing current of one of both phases of a stepping moot immediately after both a magnetic head feeding mechanism and the magnetic head are shifted to the position near a desired track with a double-phase energization. CONSTITUTION:A feed screw 10 is energized in its axis direction by a plate spring 12 in order to prevent the fluttering of the screw 10 due to the play of an output shaft of a stepping motor 11 caused in the axis direction. When the motor 11 is driven, a magnetic head 6 is shifted in the radium direction of a magnetic disk 4 and set at a prescribed position. The motor 11 applies a double-phase energizing system containing a pair of energizing coil. Then the pitch of the screw 10 is decided so that the head 6 is shifted from a writing track to its adjacent track on the disk 4 by the 4-step angle revolutions of the output shaft of the motor 11.
