PURPOSE:To surely prevent the deviation of an overlaid print position, by providing a means for controlling the speeds of both the side edges of a conveyed material depending on the difference between the speeds, in the direction of the conveyance of the material, to surely correct the meandering of the material. CONSTITUTION:For printing, paper P is pinched between a platen roller 12 and a pinch roller 11 and conveyed by the rotation of the platen roller. If the paper P is about to meander from the left side edge to the right side edge, torque acts to the second roller 14 of a control means 22 oppositely to the direction of driven motion of the roller due to the friction between the side of the roller and the friction plate 19 of the control means so that the roller 14 having been driven without resisting the conveyance of the paper P is braked. As a result, the frictional force between the paper P and a high-friction layer 21 acts to the paper oppositely to the direction of the conveyance of the paper so that the speed of the conveyance at the left side edge of the paper is kept from increasing. On the contrary of that, the frictional force between the paper P and the high-friction layer 21 of a first roller 13 at the right side edge of the paper acts to the paper in the direction of the conveyance thereof so that the speed of the conveyance of the right side edge of the paper increases. As a result, the paper P is prevented from meandering. |
