<p>The device contains a pallet (1) for retaining an object (4), the underside of which is provided with grooves (10, 11) and a recess (20) lying inbetween, the side walls (17, 18) of such a pallet (1) being constructed with furrows (27, 28). The pallet (1) lies under the interposition of cylindrical members (2, 3, 47, 52, 53) on a base (5) with corresponding grooves (6, 7). However, the pallet (1) can also be held in situ by means of a beam which engages in the recess (20) in the same. Otherwise, the pallet (1) can be retained by means of holding elements which are in engagement with the furrows (27, 28).
