PURPOSE:To prevent over-heat during idle operation at a high temperature with the use of an instruction pressure detecting type ignition timing control device, by advancing the angle of ignition when the engine is at a high temperature and in an idle condition. CONSTITUTION:An ignition angle setting circuit 8 receives a read-out instruction signal from a decoder 11 and takes in the latch content of a latch circuit 10 as an instruction pressure peak position data. Then, it is determined whether the instruction pressure peak position data is greater than the sum of the top dead center and a predetermined value, or not, and if it is greater, a spark advance is made while if it is less, a spark retardation is made to set an ignition angle. At this time when it is determined that the rotational speed of the engine is lower than a predetermined idle rotational speed and the temperature of engine cooling water is lower than a predetermined value, in accordance with a signal from an engine parameter sensor 12, the ignition angle is advanced by a predetermined angle. |
