<p>Apparatus and method for extruding plastic or pulverulent materials which have been prepared in order to obtain an extruded product in the manner of a body in the form of rods, and therefore the apparatus comprises a perforated annular screen 8, a rotor 10 which is arranged rotatably inside said perforated screen 8, which rotor 10 has a number of compression surfaces 14 which operate in close rotation with said perforated screen 8, which surfaces 14 are arranged at an acute angle with respect to the perforated screen 8 in its rotational direction.
