PURPOSE:To ensure the smooth engine running by providing a mechanism, which inturrupts the transmission of the power when the engine is overloaded, to a power transmitting means that connects a peripheral equipment, which is constantly run during the engine operation, and a peripheral equipment which is run only when it is necessary. CONSTITUTION:A power steering pump 4 installed on the side of an internal combustion engine is provided coaxially with a cooler compressor 13 via a solenoid clutch 12, that is a power transmitting mechanism. An input shaft 14 of the solenoid clutch 12 is connected to a driving shaft 6 via a pin 15. This pin 15 is cut due to shearing stress if an excessive load should occur when, for example, the cooler compressor 13 is seized up or the torque greater than the preset value is generated. Accordingly, the pump 4 can be disconnected from the cooler compressor without inturrupting the solenoid clutch 12. As a result, occurrence of an overload can be prevented, and smooth engine running can be ensured. |
