This invention relates to a process for the preparation of ambroxol derivatives, these being obtained by reaction in a medium such as pyridine or an inert solvent for ambroxol or ambroxol hydrochloride with 2-tenoyl chloride and cinnamoyl chloride in a ratio of 1 to 3 moles respectively, yielding the corresponding trisubstituted ambroxol derivatives.
