Infrared transmission diodes require a feed current supply which is matched to the respective operating conditions. The circuit according to the invention controls the feed current for pulse-controlled transmission diodes in such a way that the transmission diodes (1) are inserted in series with a pulse switch (2) into the discharge current path of a buffer capacitor (5) whose charge current path contains a current regulator (6) which is controlled according to the mark-space ratio of the control pulses which actuate the pulse switch (2). The current regulator (6) is controlled by the output voltage of an amplifier (7) which in turn is supplied with the DC output voltage of a low-pass filter (9, 10) fed by the control pulses via a limiting amplifier (8).
