PURPOSE:To provide an optical recording medium having high recording sensitiv ity and good signal quality by forming two spacer layers which are transparent to laser light and have different refractive nidices at the wavelength of the laser layer light and a recording layer having a specific compsn. and contg. tin on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The reflectivity of the medium can be increased by providing the 1st spacer layer 30 and the 2nd spacer layer 40 between the substrate 10 and the recording layer 20. Both spacer layers 30, 40 are transparent at the laser wavelength and the refractive index of the 1st spacer layer 30 is made larger than the refractive index of the substrate 10. The refractive index of the 2nd spacer layer 40 is made smaller than the refractive index of the 1st spacer layer 30. The recording layer 20 consists of a material contg. >=30% tin by volume rate rate and >=20% nickel oxide by volume rate. The adjustment of the reflectivity to an optional value with the same recording layer 20 is made possible by adjusting the refractive indices and thickness of both spacer layers 30, 40. |
