PURPOSE:To attain to enhance response and durability, by containing about 5-30wt% of monoalkyltrimethylammonium salt and/or dialkyldimethylammonium salt represented by specific formula as the ion responsive substance of a responsive film. CONSTITUTION:In a chlorine ion selective electrode equipped with a responsive film, at least one compound represented by formula (wherein R1 is a 4-16C normal- or iso-alkyl group, R2-R4 are a monoalkyltrimethylammonium salt showing the same methyl group, R1 and R2 are the same 4-16C normal- or iso-alkyl group and R3 and R4 are a dialkyldimethylammonium salt showing the same methyl group) is contained as the chlorine ion responsive substance of a responsive film in an amount of about 5-30wt% as the componential ratio in the chlorine ion responsive substance. By this method, the response and sensitivity to a chlorine ion are excellent and durability can be imparted. |
