The invention relates to a system allowing a person to be tanned using a low-power tanning apparatus, which can be moved above the person latter, from the head to the feet, or only over a part of his/her body. It consists of a bed 5 which is integral or not integral with an L-shaped frame 6, supporting on its lateral side, profiles at 10 whose slides 2 may be moved horizontally all along the body. These slides are driven by an electric motor 4 associated with a rack 3. An arm 1 supporting the tanning apparatus 7 is fixed on these slides 2. A to-and-fro motion is made automatically with the aid of contacts 9, the progress being regulated by the stop 8. This system according to the invention is intended in particular for beauty-treatment salons with limited space. <IMAGE>
