Device for the installation of tube sections in the exchanger tubes of steam generators SG of nuclear power stations, sections consisting of a number of components which are butt-jointed by welding in situ. This device comprises, carried on a remote-control handling tool 901: - a self-propelled rotary barrel magazine 903 for storing and presenting the components of tubes to be butt-jointed, fastened to the tray 904 of the positioning rack 912; - a welding module 905 mounted on a thin elevator 906 attached to the rack, consisting of two clamping rings 907 controlled in rotation and framing a welding head 908 and a position reader 909 controlling the height of the welding torch on the joint; - a driving tool 910 for introducing the components of tubes and sections into the tube plate, controlled from outside the SG through a guide tube 911 fastened to the tray 904 of the rack, coaxial with the welding module 905; - an automatic dispenser 925 for loading the section components onto the rotary barrel magazine. <IMAGE>
