The heat insulation of a pipe for the transport of cold media, esp. LPG and LNG, consists of support rings of plastic foam, esp. PUR foam which are cast between removable shuttering at certain distances from each other. Cylinderical diffusion-tight foil, pref. aluminium foil, joins these rings on the outside and the space is filled with more PUR foam.
