The present invention relates to juxtaposed and aligned electromagnets and a method of producing such electromagnets. Electromagnets characterised in that they consist essentially of at least one conductive metal strip 1 having a cut-out with alternating crenellations 2 arranged between two strips 3 of electrically insulating material provided with recesses 4 in line with the crenellations 2, these strips 1 and 3 being folded back over themselves alternately over a predetermined length, dependent on a desired arrangement of the magnetic poles with overlaying of the crenellations 2 and of the recesses 4, permeable magnetic cores 5 being incorporated into these overlying crenellations 2 and recesses 4. <IMAGE>
