Ventilation device for a building

The ventilation device is provided with a heat exchanger, in order to heat the fresh air with the aid of the warmer outgoing air. The device is accommodated in a tubular housing (10) with a round cross-sectional profile, while the heat exchanger (20) has a rectangular cross-section and is dimensioned in such a manner that its corners bear against the inner wall of the housing. As a result, air guide ducts for air guidance with a cross-sectional profile of circular-segment shape remain next to the heat exchanger. With the aid of flaps (21, 22) mounted in these ducts, the air flows can alternatively be blown out directly into the open and drawn into the room or conducted further by the heat exchanger.
