The shaping wire is for cellulose, non-woven and paper machines, and comprises binding wires against which run transversal wires in two layers. In order to render a two-layered shaping wire further resistant to wear, only certain of the binding wires are bound to the lower layer of transversal wires, whilst the remainder are bound to the upper layer of transversal wires. It is possible to reconstruct a two-layered wire so that the lower layer can be wholly cut away without the wire breaking in the paper machine, when the consequent disturbance to prodn. By binding only certain of the longitudinal wires down into the lower layer, the wire can be used as a single layered structure when the lower layer is cut away. One of the longitudinal wires is bound only into the upper layer, whilst another such wire can be bound into both the upper and lower layers. |
