To produce products in strip or foil form from metallic or metal-oxide material, molten metal is applied to the surface of a continuously moving cooling body (1) through at least one nozzle opening (3A, 3B, 3C). By producing different cooling rates on different surface areas or by varying the structure of different surface areas, the process of solidification of the melt on the surface of the cooling body is influenced to give different metallic and/or geometrical structures within adjacent areas of the strips or foils formed. By geometrical structuring of the surface of the cooling body, it is possible to produce strips or foils with a structured surface or with shape-limited individual areas, making possible mass production of small parts in strip or foil form. <IMAGE>
