The electron gun has cathodes for each of the three colours, red, green and blue. The emissions pass through control electrodes, accelerating electrode, a focussing electrode and an anode. The anode is held at the same potential as the grating mask and the fluorescent screen. In normal operation the electron gun anode is supplied with 20KV and the cathode is at OV.
