PURPOSE:To lessen the fluctuation of kinetic current in the initial period of the start of measurement with an enzyme electrode and to shorten the time until the current stabilizes by maintaining one electrode of a hydrogen peroxide electrode in a stable state during the preservation. CONSTITUTION:Either of the platinum electrode 2 or silver electrode 3 of the hydrogen peroxide electrode 8 constituting the enzyme electrode 1 is preserved in a buffer soln. 11 by impressing a prescribed DC voltage to an auxiliary electrode 10 by which the surface of the one electrode is maintained during the preservation in the stage similar to the stable stage of the kinetic current during the use. The fluctuation of the kinetic current is thus lessened even after the start of the use after the preservation and the time for stabilizing the kinetic current is shortened. The preservation is executed while an immobilized enzyme film 5 is held mounted on the surface of the electrode 8, and therefore, the sticking of org. material is prevented, the effective surface area of the electrode is maintained during aging and the fluctuation of the kinetic current is lessened. |
