Mullion/transom construction for a larger window or a window facade, with mullions and transoms which consist of mutually identical supporting profiles and which each have a foot-fastening connection for a web (18) extending perpendicularly to the window plane. In order to increase the heat insulation value and to simplify the assembly, the web connected to the supporting profile (10) consists of plastic and is continued as a one-piece structural part into the region of the covering profile (34), whilst it is designed, on its free end face, as a catching and snapping-in receptacle (28) for the direct fastening of the covering profile (34) to be placed in front of the glass pane (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
