The stop is actuated by the bite of the fish itself thanks to an attachment for fishing rods which responds to the bite of a fish. To this end, the attachment is provided with a claw hook (11) which can be transferred against the action of a spring (16) into a stretched position and can cause the fishing line to be pulled by means of a loop in the said fishing line, which loop actuates the stop. The attachment is actuated by means of a detente pawl (25) which can be actuated by an actuating device (28), to which an actuating force can be imparted through the fishing line via a holding arm (29). <IMAGE>
