PURPOSE:To obtain fish meal with suppressed formation of gizzerosine which is a causative substance for muscular gastric erosion or ulcer, by drying fish meal in the presence of reductone while heating. CONSTITUTION:Fish meal is prepared by the conventional method. In the process, a reductone, e.g. ascorbic acid or dehydroascorbic acid, is added to the fish meal and uniformly mixed therewith before finally heating the fish meal to give about 10% moisture and the resultant mixture is dried while heating. |
