The drill chuck described, with an automatic clamping and release device, makes it possible to clamp and unclamp the tool used without the aid of a drill-chuck key. When the clamping or release button is pressed, the jaws of the drill chuck are automatically clamped onto or released from the inserted tool. The simultaneous increase in the motor power ensures reliable clamping and release. The housing, which extends beyond the outer ring of the drill chuck, offers increased safety.
