In order to accommodate as many pens and/or pencils as possible with predetermined spatial dimensions of the supporting frames, a recess is arranged between each pair of guide holes, in which recess is fixed a spring strip with spring tongues which bear on the pens and/or pencils. To this end, the guide holes are partially cut open axially so that the pens and/or pencils project into the recess, where they bear on the spring tongues. The pens and/or pencils which are thus secured in a fixed orientation can be transported and processed in the supporting frames (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
