PURPOSE: To provide a high productivity and low cost photographic sensitive material whose desirable nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloid layer is selectively colored by dye giving no bad effect to the photographic performance, and quickly decolored by a series of development processes, which has superior filtration performance in a production process of dye grains contained in the nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloid layer, and reduces the loss by the filtration and frequency of replacing a filter. CONSTITUTION: The photographic sensitive material having a silver halide photosensitive emulsion layer on its base material, has at least a layer of nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloid layers containing dye which is distributed into solid grains, has the mean volume grain size of the dye grains not more than 0.4μm, and has the mean value of the ratio (D/t) of thickness (t) and length (D) of the dye grains in the section vertical to the nonphotosensitive hydrophilic colloid layer not more than 7.
