PURPOSE: To provide a speech encoding device capable of expressing the part insufficiently expressed by an adaptive code book among a periodic part of an input speech and improving tone quality of a reproducing speech. CONSTITUTION: In this speech encoding device constituting a speech synthesis filter by linear predictively analyzing the input speech, reproducing the speech based on a code vector stored in the code book and the speech synthesis filter and encoding the speech based on the reproduced speech and the input speech, a pulse code book 7 storing plural kinds of code vectors for a pitch waveform of a voiced sound is provided. |
