<p>PURPOSE:To start carrying forms at a prescribed timing by detecting that the following form does not pass a form carrying reference position on the way of a carrying path to remove the form causing paper jam if a paper jam occurs. CONSTITUTION:A form P1 is brought into contact with a timing roll 8 and is stopped temporarily, and a timing roll 28 carries the form left at a prescribed timing after rotation of an original drum 7 and a photosensitive drum 33. When the form P1 reaches a position near a fixing roll 3, a following form P2 is already brought into contact with the timing roll 28 and the holding state for next carrying is set. When the original drum 7 and the photosensitive drum 33 are rotated to prescribed positions, the timing roll 28 starts carrying the form P2. If the form P1 causes paper jams before the fixing roll 30, this paper jam is detected because a paper sensor 36 does not detect over a certain time after detection of the form by a paper sensor 35. If carrying of the form P2 is not started yet, only the form P1 is removed to release the paper jam state, and the form P2 is used for next copying.</p> |
