1. Indicating element for the seven-segment representation of a number, with a medium which is arranged between two plates and switchable between two optically different states, with transparent front electrodes arranged in seven-segment format and correspondingly arranged rear electrodes which are connected together, characterised thereby, that five of the seven front electrodes are each so divided up into two parts or groups of parts which are connected together that each part or each group of parts can represent the corresponding segment and that a respective part or a respective group of parts of three of these five electrodes is controlled in common by a first control signal, a respective part or a respective group of parts of the other two of these five electrodes is controlled in common by a second control signal and all other parts or groups of parts as well as the remaining two electrodes are each controlled by a respective separate control signal. |
