<p>Crosslinked polyolefin e.g. polyethylene foam waste can be successfully used with fresh uncrosslinked polyolefin e.g. polyethylene in the manufacture of a further polyolefin e.g. polyethylene product, after first subjecting the foam waste, in comminuted form, to controlled shear treatment, preferably in a continuous mixer extruder, at a temperature greater than 170 DEG C in order to reduce the degree of crosslinking and the viscosity of the waste material. The further product may be further crosslinked and/or foamed.</p> |
