New dyes have formula (I) (where K is coupler residue which may also contain azo gps.; R is H or Me; Z is F, NH2 (possibly substd.), OH (possibly substd.), SH (possibly substd.) or hydrocarbon residue (possibly substd.). The cpds. are used to dye or print silk, leather, wool, synthetic polyamides and polymethanes, but esp. cellulosic materials and partic. cotton. The dyes have high reactivity and give dyeings of good fastness to wet treatments and to light.
