<p>A fluid additive contg. a modifying agent for plastics, is injected into a mass of material to be extruded, by means of a device which subdivides the main flow. A starting, dispersed mixt., of additive and subdivided streams is thus obtd. and is subjected to a shearing process to homogenise it so that the modifying agent is further dispersed in the mass of base material. Used in the moulding of articles of extruded plastics having different characteristics, whilst using a single source of the base mass. The proces is simple to operate and ensures an absolutely uniform mixing in of the additive.</p> |
