PURPOSE:To prepare the titled compound useful as a curing agent for epoxy resin, a raw material for polyamide, etc., by preparing previously a mixed solution of nitrobenzaldehyde and ammonia in an organic solvent, feeding the solution dividedly, subjecting the solution to a catalytic reduction. CONSTITUTION:In preparation of aminobenzylamine by reducing catalytically a nitrobenzaldehyde shown by the formula (nitro group is at m- or p-position) in the presence of ammonia, nitrobenzene and >=1mol, preferably 3-10mol ammonia based on nitrobenzaldehyde are predissolved in an organic solvent to give a mixed solution, which is dividedly fed and reduced. Liquid ammonia is preferable as ammonia used. EFFECT:A catalyst is deteriorated only a little and can be reused. USE:A raw material for polyimide, and a raw material for intermediates for agricultural chemicals and drugs. |
