In the process described, the oven gas is fed to the fuel in contra-flow in the cooling zone and in co-current flow in the warming-up zone. The burnt gas is evacuated into the environment from a high-temperature region of the oven. Furthermore, the oven gas is removed from the high-temperature region and fed into the warming-up zone. The removal from the oven of the gas intended for supplying the warming-up zone is effected in the direction of the advance of the product before or in the main combustion region. The oven gas passes through the entire main combustion region in contra-flow. The oven gas fed into the warming-up region has a very low oxygen content. |
