摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the calculating accuracy of both the center position and a radius of a digital circle by detecting each run length at a point opposite to the diameter direction of the circle and giving the corrected values to the center and the radius which are calculated roughly. CONSTITUTION:A diameter position detecting means 11 detects the positions of two points opposite to the diameter direction of a digital circle 5 drawn to a graphic display device 10. A run length detecting means 12 detects the run length at both points. A center position calculating means 13 first calculates roughly the center position of the circle 5 from the half of the sum of positions of both points by means of a roughly calculating means 15 for center position applying the conventional method. Then a calculating means 16 for decimal part of center position divides the square difference between both run lengths by the difference between both point positions and multiplies the result of this division by a constant to calculates the decimal part of the center position. A radius roughly calculating means 17 reduces the difference between both point positions down to half and calculates roughly the radius of the circle 5. Then a radius decimal part calculating means 18 divides the square sum of both run lengths by the sum of both point positions and multiplies the obtained quotient by a constant with addition of a constant to calculate the decimal part of the radius.
