摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve flexiblity, etc., by digitization by digitally processing the sum of products of input/output image data and weight values of pixels in a specific area and determining output image data according to nonlinear characteristic parameters. SOLUTION: A processor 100 is equipped with a 1st product sum arithmetic part 11 which calculates the sum of products of data in a memory 28 stored with input weight values in a nearby image area and data in a memory 30 stored with an input grey level image and a 2nd product sum computing element 12 which calculates the sum of products of data in a memory 29 stored with output weight values and output half-tone image values in a memory 31. Then the product sum operations are performed by the product sum arithmetic parts 11 and 12 and an adder 25 calculates their sum. The result of this adder 25 is shown on an (x) axis and the value of f(x) determined by it is determined as an output low-bit half-tone image value. The norlinear function f(x) used by this nonlinear operation part 26 can be selected by a CPU 6 according to an instruction from an image process selection part.
