Pre-analysis treatment of fibrin containing sample

Method (A) of incubating a fibrin-containing sample after treatment with a fibrin monomer complex dissociation agent and (a) a chelate former and/or (b) a salt having no or slight dissociating action on fibrin monomer complex and/or (c) a substance capable of binding to fibrin, is new. Also claimed are: (1) a method (B) of incubating a fibrin-containing sample after treatment with a denaturing agent comprising a chaotropic aromatic or aliphatic carboxylic acid or salt; (2) a method (C) of incubating a fibrin-containing sample after adjustment to pH /- 12 or <= 3, and (3) kits for carrying out above mentioned methods.
