The system includes a system control mechanism for controlling device-specific components, which works together with an usage unit. The system control mechanism is associated with a data storage arrangement, in which at least a usage menu is stored, which is accessible by the usage unit, and displayed on a display arrangement. The menu includes several usage functions which are selectable, if necessary, by means of a movable mark. An associated function is executed by means of the system control mechanism at selection of an usage function. The kind and/or the amount of the usage functions of the menu on the display arrangement are selected by the user and stored as a menu in the data storage arrangement.
