PURPOSE:To prevent wrong confirmation to both sides of a vehicle at its rear section, by radiating oscillating waves towards the side spaces and detecting presence/absence of any obstacles from the reflecting waves of the oscillating waves reflected by the obstacles, and then, producing alarming sounds. CONSTITUTION:Side mirrors 14a and 14b are fitted to both sides of an automobile 10. Each of the side mirrors 14a and 14b is composed of a box body section 16 and mirror 18 and at the front section of the box body 16 a transmitter 20 which radiates ultrasonic waves towards the rear section of the automobile 10 on the same side, receiver 24 which receives ultrasonic waves reflected by an obstacle 22, and luminous element 26 which display the presence/absence of the obstacle 22 are provided. |
