PURPOSE:To permit the easy presetting of a crown adjustment by providing a reduction gear to a driving system which eccentrically displaces split back-up rolls so that the mechanism can be manually or motor-driven via the reduction gear. CONSTITUTION:An operator manually rotates a handle in the case of manually presetting a crown. A driving shaft 10b is then rotated and the revolution thereof is decelerated by the worm reduction gear 8d and is transmitted to an output shaft 8b by which a pinion 7b is rotated. Two rack bars 4b, thereupon, move in the directions opposite from each other and a selector lever 3b oscillates to rotate the quarter back-up roll 2b, by which the center of said roll is displaced and the crown adjustment of a work roll is executed. The driving shaft 10b is rotated by the driving of a motor and the crown adjustment is executed in the same manner as mentioned above in the case of adjusting the crown by the motor driving. |
