The invention relates to a manually or automatically operated slide-gate device for irrigation channels. The said gate consists of a gate plate 1, sliding in slideways 3 and located below a bracket comprising a vertical upright 5 on which a crosspiece 6 is articulated about a pivot 11. The crosspiece, driven by a jack 16, opens or closes the gate via a connecting rod 7. The invention is particularly intended for gravity irrigation using open channels. <IMAGE>
