A gasket overlay of polymeric material surrounding at least one through opening in a flat gasket, preferably in a ring, consists of at least two and, in particular, three concentric overlay beads which are connected to one another by connecting webs distributed uniformly over the circumference. In this arrangement, the connecting webs are preferably arranged offset relative to one another, so that, while providing a good sealing effect, the gasket overlays can be subjected to high compression pressures for sealing without being destroyed and give additional security against radial cracks across the entire width of the overlay in the event of manufacturing defects. <IMAGE>
