This invention relates to a bicycle holder which is mounted in a removable fashion on the rear of a car or on the loading platforms of small trailers, and by means of which a bicycle can be transported in a roadworthy manner so as to be ready for use. One big disadvantage of other, previously known bicycle holders is that they first have to be fixedly mounted on the car roof and the bicycles have to be raised so that they can be fixed to the roof. This holder can be easily mounted, is tightly suspended on the boot or a crossbar of a car or small trailer and is fastened by means of a snap closure so as to be roadworthy and protected against theft. This object is achieved according to the invention in that a transportable holder which is not intended solely for transport is mounted on the rear of a car or small trailer and on which a bicycle is arranged above the boot in the direction of travel in a piggyback fashion. The bicycle can be easily loaded and unloaded thanks to the short distance between the holder and the ground. Once the bicycle has been taken off, the holder can be removed without difficulty and stored. This holder may be used both for storing a bicycle in garages or the like and also as a holder when a bicycle is being cleaned.
