A test device for carrying out a test involving a liquid sample and an active material carried by a disc or strip of sheet material, comprising a body member having therein a liquid-receiving well, said well having a wall or bottom formed of transparent material to allow optical analysis of liquid contents of the well therethrough, and said body member also having therein at least one recessed formation constituting a slideway to receive and hold in slotwise manner a disc or strip of paper or other sheet carrying active material to participate in the test, wherein the slideway is in open communication with the liquid-receiving well, whereby said disc or strip when located in said slideway can contact the liquid sample received in said well, and allow optical analysis of said liquid sample through said transparent wall or bottom of said well. |
