The invention relates to a translation mechanism with an engagement interruption and locking of said translation mechanism. The object of the invention is to provide a translation mechanism with an engagement interruption and locking of said translation mechanism, in which it is possible to separate the teeth from one another out of engagement after the necessary movement length and, by means of engagement locking, to position them without damage or destruction of the teeth. The invention achieves this object in that it is composed at least of two and more toothed racks which are mounted in a clamping block and, for transmitting the movement change through 90 DEG , are adapted to the engagement interruption of the teeth of the axial toothed rack and to the teeth of the firmly grasped tension rod, via the bevelling for the interruption of the engagement of the teeth which, by means of the projection of the detent mechanism for blocking the teeth of the firmly grasped tension rod and the axial tension rod, are firmly seated in the groove of the axial tension rod which, in the case of engagement interruption via the bevelling of the projection of the detent mechanism of the firmly grasped tension rod, for the continuous connection and disconnection of the teeth and of the bevel for the continuous disconnection and connection of the teeth during the locking and blocking of the teeth, terminates on the axial toothed rack.
