In order to improve the functional-value characteristics of a web cable it is proposed that the wire insulation (5, 6) be constructed in two layers, the outer insulating layer (6) having a thickness of 0.05 to 0.20 mm and a Shore-D hardness of at least 55. The outer insulating layer forms impact protection and, possibly, moisture protection. <IMAGE>
