PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent dye precursor for a black color forming recording material, by incorporating a specified fluoran derivative. CONSTITUTION:Of fluoran derivatives, preferred is one of formula (I), wherein X is hydrogen or an amine residue, Y is alkyl, alkoxy, aryl, halogen or an amine residue, X is an amine residue, Ar is aryl, and R1 is hydrogen, halogen or lower alkyl. Of amine residues of X, preferred is one of formula [II], wherein each of R2 and R3 is preferably hydrogen, -18C alkyl or 6-12C aryl. The fluoran derivative is a colorless or light-colored crystal, is highly soluble in organic solvents, and rapidly forms a black color on making contact with an electron-acceptive substance. |
