Appliance for cutting out, picking up and breaking up fodder blocks from flat silos and for distributing the broken-up material on both sides of the appliance, with a first appliance part consisting of a frame, on which a tine bar with horizontally projecting tines and a cutting unit are mounted so as to be movable up and down and at the upper end of which is provided a removing device which transfers the removed material into the funnel of a discharge shaft in a second appliance part, where it is broken up by a post-comminuting device and is transferred onto a cross-conveyor for discharge laterally of the appliance.
