PURPOSE:To improve the definition of a colored part by eliminating erroneous corrections of a skin-colored part by mixing the high-frequency component according to the magnitude of a color difference signal as to R-Y. CONSTITUTION:Among color difference signals from a color difference signal source, R-Y is passed through a nonlinear transmitting circuit with characteristics A, and other G-Y and B-Y are passed through a nonlinear transmitting circuit with characteristics B to obtain gain control signals. A high frequency component is extracted from a luminance signal produced from luminance signal source 12 is supplied to variable gain amplifiers 15 to adjust the gain with gain control signals of R-Y, G-Y and B-Y. Those gain amplification outputs are supplied to adders 16, where color difference signals are added to the luminance signal, so that a sharp color picture having skin-colored parts corrected excellently can be obtained. |
