PURPOSE:To reduce errors, by holding the ends of laminated plates or pipes by the caliper surfaces of a caliper-shaped measuring instrument, to which a magnifying glass is attached, moving the pointer, which is linked to the magnifying glass, at right angles with the surface at the contact point, thereby measuring the thicknesses of the plates and the diameters of the pipes. CONSTITUTION:The diameter of double pipes A is held by both caliper surfaces 3a and 3b of a caliper-shaped measuring instrument B. The surfaces are moved up and down and right and left by a vertical-movement adjusting screw 5a and a horizontal-movement adjusting screw 7. A cross mark provided at the central part of a magnifying glass 4 is made to agree with the boundary of the inner pipe 2 and the outer pipe 1 of the double pipes. A pointer 5b, which is linked to the magnifying glass 4, is moved up and down, and the dimensions of the inner pipe 2 and the outer pipe 1 of the double pipes A are measured. Thus the thickness or the diameter of each layer of the plates or the pipes, which are layered in two or more layers can be directly measured. Errors are few and automation is possible. Therefore rational measurement can be performed. |
